ORIENTAL RUGS ZINE  Editor’s Index EDITOR’S CORNER Nov/Dec 2000   We’ve run out of steam here at the Oriental Rug Zine. Though a satisfying number of you have become readers, few have come forward with articles. Because it can be hard to publish in Hali, we thought that ruggies would welcome another journal in which to voice ideas, but it just hasn’t turned out that way. The few who have contributed articles have done a splendid job and we thank them deeply: Paul Gertmenian, Mason Purcell and Chris Walter. Two others, who have reason to know how hard it is to keep something like this going, have given us wonderful moral support, and we thank them deeply as well: R. John Howe and Steve Price. I would like them to know too how much the rug community appreciates their efforts and the efforts of a few others to present Turkotek. (<http://www.turkotek.com>). It is a great resource for the rug world. But we at Oriental Rug Zine are drawing the curtain and turning out the light. We simply can’t keep up the work the Zine requires. The wonderful thing about the internet, though, is that we can and will leave the site intact and keep the archives available for those who stumble on it. And if some intrepid workaholic would like to open the curtains once again, you have our blessings. Speaking personally now, one of the things that have bitten into my time for the Zine has been my total submersion in work on a novel. That seems like a suitable pursuit for an old rug dealer, doesn’t it? We’ve long been known for spinning a good yarn.  Editor’s Index Thank you all.
